A NEW WAY TO NURTURE THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN YOUR STUDENTS

Hello friends;

This week's task is to prepare an Internet Based Project.For this project,our teacher introduced us PADLET as a tool.Padlet is an application to create an online bulletin board.You can display information for any topic.You can add images,links,videos etc...You can return the information easily,change or add more later.It looks like a corkboard that you can pin whatever information on.This corkboard can be made completely public or completely private.Also,it is very easy to use and access,especially access is not complex,just you enter your e-mail adress and a password.

After introducing Padlet,our teacher wanted us to choose one of two tasks and work on it as a group .The first task was about a global or local problem.The second one was about freedom;individual rights.

We chose the first one and decide to work on a global problem,Endangered Species. As a group we thought that that topic would fit on the Padlet very well.Firstly,we described the topic and gave the list of species in terms of their danger level.According to this list,we prepared examples which including animal and plant species from all around the world using visual aids and displayed on the Padlet.After classifying animal species and giving examples about them,we shared information about causes and effects of the problem.Finally,we offered solutions to solve the problem.

Here is the Padlet example that was prepared by my group .

While I was working on this project,I learned a lot of things about endangered species such as Sumatra Orangutans which have lost %50 of their population because of clearing forests for agriculture and the harm of  non native species which incidentally were intoduced to a new environment.

I had both fun and information working on a padlet.

Do I use padlet as a tool in my classroom?

Of course,I do.Especially,to give tasks to the students to work in collaboration,teach them collaboration as 21.century learning skill,engage them into the topic,introduce them a new topic,activate their schemata ,make them follow the lesson out- of -the classroom,use a reminder and give feedback,I can use the Padlet willingly.
You can bring the Padlet into the classroom whenever you want.You can embed your Padlets into your classrroom blogs or websites as lesson materials.

No cutting,no gluing,no wasting time!

Padlet is a new way to make your students love  your lessons and working in collaboration.

Let's create oppurtunities to work on Padlet!!!
